Not long ago, I went to a conference where large numbers of aesthetic doctors gather, and

I met some doctors who work near Gangnam Station and heard truly shocking news.

Naturally, the area near Gangnam Station is commonly known for so-called 'dumping,' so

Because Ulthera treatments are being offered at rock-bottom prices, there is hardly any margin left.

Also, because there are many new foreign clients who come just once and never return,

rather than devoting dedicated care to each individual patient and putting effort into the treatment results,

taking in a large number of clients,

They use a strategy (high volume, low margin) of getting clients out of the clinic in a short time.

It is precisely a way of shortening the treatment time.

What is used for that method is what is called a.k.a Jeomssera .

When I first heard the word “Jeomssera,” I thought it was a newly released copy of the Ulthera device.

Actually, it is not that. They narrow the range over which Ulthera fires (from a line to a dot),

a term popular among the doctors at those clinics, meaning to cut a single shot short,

It was slang.

To help you understand, I'll show you with a photo.

This is the Ulthera monitor screen. If you look at the far right,

You can see 'Length 25mm' displayed, and 25 is the default value.

The space between the gray vertical lines on both sides is 25mm, and Ulthera energy is delivered in a line over that length,

That Length can be adjusted manually.

As you can see, 5mm is the minimum value.

5mm is really just a dot.

coagulation points only 1/5 the size of the thermal coagulation points normally created at the default 25mm are produced, and

Put simply, 5 shots of Jeomssera are equal to 1 shot of Ulthera.

Is the cost different? No. They simply charge the same price per shot.

Instead, the treatment time is reduced to 1/5, so the treatment can be finished quickly.
(If 400 shots of Ulthera take 20 minutes, 400 shots of Jeomssera take 4 minutes)

The effect is likely to be close to nothing at all.

This absolutely does not mean that all doctors near Gangnam Station do this.

But it is talked about precisely because there are certainly doctors who do it this way, and

Considering the revenue structure and the way these clinics operate, I can imagine temptation arising.

The most important thing in a high-volume, low-margin business is the turnover rate.

And Jeomssera is the way to raise that turnover rate.

This is clearly moral hazard on the part of some doctors.

I would like to ask the doctors who perform Jeomssera..

who cannot afford the treatment cost and so have no choice but to look for a cheap price

Would you want to do this to young clients..?

while benefiting from the K-beauty market that our predecessors built up,

Do you really want to sell your conscience and make a profit from the foreign customers who come to see you this way..?

If, because of this, word spreads that 'I got Ulthera in Korea and it had no effect,'

Other clinics that perform treatments with dedicated care suffer damage as well..

The honor of the K-beauty market that everyone has worked hard to build up,

please do not tarnish it. I'm asking you.

How to check whether you received a Jeomssera or a proper treatment. Here it is.

Ulthera has a log file that is stored on the device itself.

If you go into the log file,

The treatment start time, treatment end time, energy used, and even the Length are all shown.

If Length says 25.0mm, you received it properly,

If it says 5, you received a Jeomssera.

It is best to request the log file in advance.

there are even cases where the records are actually reset, and

If a rented device was used because the original equipment broke down, no log file may be left behind.

I got angry, and I wrote this post because I felt this had to be made known.
