Hello, this is Dr. Cho Young-min of Cheongdam ANZ Dermatology Clinic.

Today, for the first time in a while, I'd like to talk about Ulthera.

Since it is, after all, the most widely popular lifting treatment,

it seems many people are interested.

For the basic principles of Ulthera, please refer to my previous post.

And for those for whom Ulthera had no effect at all,

I have also introduced Titanium lifting before.

What I'd like to talk about today is

This post is for those who keep up their care by getting Ulthera every year.

People usually start getting Ulthera in their 20s to 40s, and

starting out at around 400 shots, and then

as the years go by,

there are cases where 500 or even 600 shots are gradually recommended.

In a way, it is only natural, since our skin keeps aging,

With the same number of shots, the effect is bound to diminish.

But when you keep doing it consistently, once a year,

if the number of shots keeps increasing, it is bound to become a burden.

after all, once the number of shots has gone up, it is never going to come back down.

Why does the number of Ulthera shots keep increasing?

Let's look into the reasons a little more.

The aging of our face

1) The skin itself losing elasticity and sagging

2) Changes in the fat layer with age

These two happen together.

Fat loss in some areas -> forehead, cheeks

Fat accumulation in other areas -> around the mouth, chin

is said to occur.

If we focus a little more on fat accumulation,

This means that fat gradually gathers in the jowls and double chin as we age.

So the process of aging is described as

The inverted triangle becomes a square!

Or the V-line becomes a U-line!

—that is how it is described.

In the end, standing in the way of the direction of lifting we want,

the fat that acts as a weight

accumulates in proportion to age, so

the conclusion is that the number of Ulthera shots has no choice but to increase.

So, can't we reduce that weight?

Yes, there is.

It means removing the fat that builds up in specific areas.

There are various methods, such as liposuction and fat-dissolving injections, but

With treatments like these,

it comes with side effects such as bruising, swelling, and damage to tissue, including the skin or the surrounding muscles and nerves.

But without damaging the surrounding tissue,

there is one method that selectively and permanently removes only the fat layer

That is ultrasound fat dissolving.

After filling the fat layer with water containing anesthetic,

when an ultrasound probe is applied,

Only the fat is selectively melted, turning into something like thin yogurt.

Since the fat is removed permanently,

even with just one session,

as long as there is no major weight gain,

The number of Ulthera shots you get every year

can be kept the same, or

a similar lifting effect even with fewer shots

can be seen.

It is an essential treatment for everyone who gets Ulthera.

The line that needed 500 shots this year to maintain

may be possible next year with just 400 shots.

As for the treatment area, the course of recovery, and additional information,

if you visit us, we can show you more through our in-clinic materials.

Because there is almost no pain once anesthesia is applied,

it is a procedure that can be done perfectly well without sleep anesthesia.

But because it makes a sound like dental scaling,

for those who are very scared, we can also assist you with the procedure under sleep anesthesia.

The procedure takes about 30 minutes to 1 hour, so please keep that in mind.
