Hello, this is Dr. Cho Young-min.

Because I have recently heard a lot of news about burns after Titanium procedures,

With a heavy heart, I want to write this post.

Most of the people who receive Titanium treatment are women.

Suffering second- to third-degree burns on the face and being left with permanent scars

It is nothing short of horrific.

Why does this happen?

In my view,

Without understanding the principle of the Titanium laser,

I judge it to be the result of carelessly performing procedures just to follow a trend.

Before the main text, let me state something up front.

The purpose of this post is

victims who suffer side effects from the Titanium laser

to prevent it from happening again,

Not only those who are considering Titanium treatment,

and to all the doctors at clinics that perform Titanium laser treatment as well

is a story I would like to share with you.

Does the Titanium laser cause burns?

Of course, it can happen.

Although Titanium's sapphire cooling protects the epidermis as much as possible,

If the laser keeps being fired at just one spot,

Burns occur when the heat exceeds the range that cooling can handle.

Therefore, while delivering appropriate energy and keeping the handpiece moving,

The right approach is to deliver energy evenly while performing the procedure in a way that does not cause burns.

B.u.t.

In ordinary cases, burns do not occur.

The Titanium laser is, remarkably, an Israeli premium device made by ALMA, but

Would they have made it so sloppily..?

Absolutely not.

So why do burns occur with Titanium?

It is a well-known fact that Titanium uses three wavelengths like this.

It uses multiple wavelengths to raise the temperature of all layers of the skin,

In a very short time, the temperature rises to as high as 56°C in stack mode and 110°C in SHR mode.

(Of course, 110°C is never actually used in a real procedure.)

The important point here is

Namely, it uses 3 wavelengths and the temperature rises quickly.

At this point, there are cases where a variable arises.

The variables are things that do not exist in normal skin.

For example,

if there is bruising from some earlier procedure, or

put in by the clinic before the procedure to relieve pain

Anesthetic injection fluid (including tumescent solution) acts as a variable.

To emphasize once more, the main culprits are bruises and anesthetic injection fluid.

The 1064 wavelength used in Titanium

Not only pigment,

It also has high absorbance in the fluids of our body.

At 1064nm, you can see melanin, water, and

It also shows high absorbance for hemoglobin.

Put simply,

if fluid has collected in a small area or the skin is bruised,

than the rate at which Titanium raises the skin's temperature,

It means that the temperature of that area rises much faster.

That is why, quite naturally, on bruised areas or

on areas where an anesthetic injection was given,

performing Titanium raises the risk of burns.

These days, many people are having skin booster treatments such as Rejuran Healer or Lilied

It is often done together with Titanium.

In fact, the same goes for cases where Botox is combined.

When a procedure that may cause bleeding or involves putting liquid into the skin is combined,

You must do the Titanium procedure first (this is addressed to doctors)

This is something that, as I run the Titanium training center,

This is something I always made a point of telling other doctors when I trained them,

It seems that many practitioners either did not receive training or do not remember it.

What follows is addressed to other doctors who perform Titanium procedures.

If you are not sure, just do the Titanium procedure first.

Then, assuming the procedure is performed normally,

Burns from Titanium would almost never occur.

keep anesthetic injections to a small amount if possible, or

If you are not confident, please don't do it.

In case, by any chance, because of these side effects,

I hope that fear of the Titanium laser will not grow unnecessarily.

Used well, it is a truly excellent laser device.

it can create lines that Ulthera cannot, and

It is the only device that makes high-end procedures such as T-Thermage possible.

If you want to have Titanium done but

After seeing cases of Titanium side effects,

are afraid and don't know where to go,

a Titanium Lifting training center + a board-certified dermatologist

I hope you will look for one.

It doesn't have to be our clinic.

And although it should never happen, even if, by some remote chance, you do get burned,

because a dermatologist can respond quickly and appropriately,

the scars that remain on the face later

can be minimized.

Today, we looked at why burns occur after a Titanium procedure.

I wish a speedy recovery to everyone who has suffered burns on the face.

If another report comes in about Titanium side effects and Titanium burns,

I will write an additional post.
